Review: Attitude Super Leaves Clarifying Shampoo – good for sensitive scalps?
Overall
This is a really nice, gentle clarifying shampoo that feels particularly well suited to anyone prone to an itchy or sensitive scalp. It cleans effectively without feeling harsh, which is where a lot of “clarifying” shampoos fall down.
Texture and use
First things first – the bottle sits upside down on its own lid. It’s sturdy, easy to open one-handed, and actually feels designed to get every last bit out, which is always satisfying.
The shampoo itself is clear with a light, fresh scent – nothing strong or artificial, which I prefer. It feels quite thick when you first apply it, giving it a more substantial feel than many natural shampoos.
That thickness is a bit of a double-edged sword. It makes the shampoo feel richer, but also means it takes slightly more effort to distribute through the hair, and a bit longer to rinse out. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable.
It produces only a light foam, which fits with it being a gentler formula. Even so, it still manages to leave hair feeling properly clean, which isn’t always the case with low-foam shampoos.
Results
After using it, my hair felt clean and light, without that dry, overly “squeaky” feeling. The ends in particular stayed in good condition, which suggests it’s not stripping.
It doesn’t give loads of slip or silkiness on its own – if anything, it leaves hair feeling quite natural rather than “finished.” I use a leave-in conditioner anyway, so I just used slightly more than usual and that worked well.
The standout, though, is the effect on the scalp. If you’re prone to itchiness or irritation, this is really effective at keeping things calm and comfortable without feeling medicated or harsh. It’s one of those products that just quietly improves things over time.
Overall
A solid everyday shampoo if you want something gentle that still cleans well. It’s not the easiest to spread or rinse, and it doesn’t do much in terms of added smoothness, but it’s very reliable.
Where it really earns its place is scalp comfort – if that’s a priority for you, this is a genuinely good option and one I’d consider repurchasing.
